About Us
The Lake Wales Housing Authority (LWHA) was established in July 1969. Its mission is to assist low-income families by providing safe, affordable, and decent housing.
The goal of the LWHA is to help them achieve self-sufficiency, improve their quality of life, and operate efficiently. The LWHA works with community agencies to achieve its mission.
The LWHA operates a Public Housing Program and the Housing Choice Voucher program (HCV), also known as Section 8. The LWHA receives federal grants for its programs.
The LWHA manages Grove Manor, a 172-unit development, and Sunrise Park, a 196-unit development, which replaced the Sunrise Apartments complex that was damaged by hurricanes in 2004.
